Here are some of the photos from our latest wine and dine menu in Nottingham on the 23rd May 2015.
We had five courses all with carefully selected wines to accompany and compliment each dish.
Blini’s with caviar and sour cream.
Above is Blini’s with caviar and sour cream paired with Malbrontes Torrontes from argentina.
Above is the Razor clams, chorizo and sautéed squid with wild herbs paired with Don Jacobo, a Spainish Rioja Rosado.
Above is seared venison haunch, with hunter’s stew and potato rosti paired with Luis Felipe Edwards, a Reserva Merlot from Chile.
Above is wild sea bass, confit baby fennel, kopytka and wild mushrooms paired with Waipara hills, a New Zealand Sauvingnon blanc.
To finish the evening was a Baked Krakowski cheesecake served with cardamom ice cream paired with Blandy’s duke of Clarence from Madeira.

Sweetbread fritters, potato rosti, spinach and a smoked bacon and onion chutney, paired with Callia Lunaris Shiraz Rosé from Agentina.
We had some pescetarian diners so for them we changed the dish above from sweetbread to a scallop.
Braised rabbit leg, saffron risotto and aubergine caviar paired with Marques De Morano, a classic Spanish crianza Rioja
Monk fish tail wrapped in parma ham, pressed potato, purple sprouting broccoli and steamed clams, paired with Blackstone Chardonnay from USA.
Coffee Crème brûlée with dipped chocolate shortbread paired with Omni, a sparkling brut from Australia.
And to finish the meal was a selection of cheeses served with a pear chutney and oak cakes accompanied with Cockburn’s ruby port.

We are very excited to announce the launch of our new food menu on the 2nd March.

One of our New starters, deep-fried brie, spicy chorizo, dressed leaves and croutons.
The Mains… Braised ox cheek, mushrooms, silver skin onions, fondant potato and kale.
8oz Gammon steak, Chive mashed potatoes, seasonal greens and a poached egg.
For something sweet, RHUBARB & CUSTARD CRÈME BRÛLÉE Stewed rhubarb crème brûlée with ice cream.

For two year now we have hosted a pancake eating competition here at the Wilford Green. This year we had 16 contestants in Nottingham eating and incredible 200 pancakes between them! We were also joined and recorded for Radio 4 (broadcast date to follow)
Its was just £5 to enter and you keep ordering pancakes until you cant manage any more. With our toppings table so you can mix it up how ever you like them.
An incredible 19 pancakes were eaten by Simon making him this years winner. He has won a £25 gift voucher to spend with us, When he can face another meal!
Its a nice change to do something a bit different to our Main menu or Sunday Roast. We are already looking forward to next year to see if Simon can keep his title or if someone going to beat his 19 pancake record.
